CONFERENCE CUP

European club water polo is set to expand with the launch of the Conference Cup in the 2025/26 season. Organized by European Aquatics, this new third-tier competition will sit between the Euro Cup and the Challenger Cup, increasing high-level matchups and development opportunities. Featuring top clubs from Europe’s strongest leagues and teams relegated from the Euro Cup, the tournament will follow a city-based format, culminating in a Final Eight showdown. Winners of the Challenger Cup, Conference Cup, and Euro Cup will earn promotion to the next tier, regardless of domestic league standings. With this fourth major European club competition—open to both men’s and women’s teams—European Aquatics strengthens its commitment to growing the sport, offering more clubs and athletes the chance to compete internationally.
